Did you know? For many years G4S Jersey has successfully delivered Fire Awareness training to businesses on the Island, we operate a purpose built fire rig which allows the training participants to practice using extinguishers on real fires. |
As part of our business development we have added Fire Warden training to ensure that businesses have people within their organisations who can take the lead, should the need arise. We have worked in conjunction with other organisations to develop and deliver their own procedures as part of in-house training schemes; training can be carried out on your own premises or in our training centre based at Rue Des Pres.
G4S Jersey made a decision to support its commitment to training and development, which is underpinned by our Company values especially “Best People”. We recruited a training and development officer to complement the activities of our HR team in 2007.
We initially focussed on our in house training, ensuring that the updated health and safety procedures were embedded into the business. We quickly identified that our experience could be of use to others. We therefore established a training services proposition.
Apart from the obvious benefits of G4S Jersey having trained and competent staff, we have found that our staff feel valued, as all of the courses are assessed and certificates are issued for their personal development files.
G4S Jersey has created a suite of courses; these have been designed to be delivered to most Companies, specifically to enhance their current training provision.
Some of these courses have been introduced in to our own induction programme, thus ensuring that all of our new staff comply with the requirements of the latest health and safety legislation
We have recently added First Aid training to our portfolio of courses. There is an obvious benefit to our organisation and our customers, many individuals utilise these skills in their lives outside of work.
G4S Jersey provide a session run by CIEH qualified trainers in the principles of safe handling, training is both practical as well as theoretical so that your staff can have a go at putting the principles into practice. We are able to provide Health and Safety Executive accredited courses for either one day appointed person or the 4 day First Aid at work certificates. Health and Safety at work is key to all employers and again we have produced a solution that we are willing to share with an introduction to health and safety at work session that gives employees the knowledge of their responsibilities under the law.
G4S Jersey will continue to add to it's portfolio of training courses, and would be happy to hear from any organisation that considers our expertise to be of value to them.
