Acquisition of MM Fire Alarms Ltd. We are delighted to announce that G4S Jersey completed the acquisition of the goodwill and assets of MM Fire Alarms Ltd on Friday the 14th of December 2007 .
Business background. The principal activity of M.M. Fire Alarms is the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems and general electrical installations. It is a Jersey based business which has been trading for 18 years.
MM Fire Alarms has diversified in recent years to include the supply and installation of fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and the provision of PAT testing services.
The Managing Director of MM Fire Alarms, Mr. Martin Mundy, has agreed to join G4S Jersey in the position of 'Operations Manager - Security Systems'. This further strengthens our Security Systems management team in Jersey and provides a robust succession plan for the division.
Rationale for acquisition by G4S. This acquisition fits right into the heart of our strategy and plans to strengthen our expertise in key areas, thereby enabling us to further develop the services we can provide to our Jersey customers.
It broadens our capabilities by the addition of general electrical installations and PAT testing, which compliment our existing alarms installation activities.
Future Prospects. The combined business will enable the Jersey management team to further expand service provision into broad based facilities management projects. With combined resources, a greater number of installation projects can be commenced concurrently and project completion times will be reduced. There will be an improved capacity to provide electrical maintenance services.
